I have a dream to achieve at USM Alger - Kwame Poku

Ghanaian striker, Kwame Poku has opened up on his dreams ahead of kicking start his career with USM Alger of Algeria.

The 21-year-old joined the North African side on a four and a half year deal from Asante Kotoko following his sterling performance in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

The athletic striker was unveiled on Tuesday after passing his mandatory medicals where he faced the media.

“Before I signed for this club I was following them.

“You know big club always wants to win the league and also do well in other league matches, FA Cup.

“Me being here, I have a lot dreams being a player but first of all my goal is to help my club, USM Alger.

“To do well in the league and other competitions.” Kwame Poku said in a press conference.

Kwame Poku signed for Kotoko from first Division club, Nkoranza Warriors in 2019 but could not play a game due to the truncation of football due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

He quickly settled in the squad with some breathtaking display for the record Ghana premier league title holders.

He scored seven goals in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League before he was snapped up by the Algerian side.

He recently played a part in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg for the 20221 AFCON qualifier.

He was however benched in the Black Stars final qualifier against São Tomé at the Accra Sports Stadium in a 3-1 win.

Kwame Poku is expected to hit the ground running at his new club.
