The Afrobeats star follows his global “Terminator” success and Chelsea FC collaboration with a smooth new love song, out today!
Lagos, Nigeria | October 23, 2026 – Ghanaian superstar King Promise, one of the leading names driving Afrobeats onto the global stage, opens a new chapter with his new single “Melody,” out today, alongside its official music video premiering at 5pm WAT.
Centered on the beauty, movement and the magnetic pull of a woman, “Melody” captures the euphoria of attraction through King Promise’s signature blend of Afrobeats, Highlife and R&B. With an instantly memorable hook that plays on the very idea of a melody, the record celebrates both the feeling of falling for someone and the artist’s gift for creating music that stays with you. It marks the first official single from his anticipated new album, planned for 2027.
The release arrives off the heels of See What We’ve Done, King Promise’s collaborative project with Nigerian superstar Mr Eazi, released in April. Building on a longstanding creative partnership, the project celebrated the duo’s musical chemistry and shared history, further showcasing King Promise’s versatility across contemporary African sounds. With “Melody,” he carries that momentum into a new solo chapter rooted in romance, feel-good rhythms and his unmistakable melodic sensibility.
With three acclaimed solo albums, As Promised (2019), 5 Star (2022) and True to Self (2024), King Promise has built a catalogue that connects Ghanaian musical heritage with a global pop sensibility. His international breakthrough, “Terminator,” has amassed more than 265 million streams. With a large majority of streams coming from outside Africa, alongside more than 12 million TikTok creations, the record has helped extend his reach across the UK, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and beyond.
His collaborative catalogue further reflects that international reach, spanning artists including RAYE, Headie One, Chance the Rapper, Fridayy, Tom Walker, Sean Paul, Wizkid, Davido, Young Jonn, Omah Lay, Ronisia, Frenna and Chivv. Recognized by influential outlets including Billboard, GQ, Complex, BBC Radio 1Xtra and more, King Promise is one of Ghana’s most awarded artists, having received a Headies Award in 2019, earned nominations at the MOBO and Trace Awards in 2025 and again at the 2026 Headies Awards.
Beyond music, King Promise has established himself as a multifaceted entertainer, with a playful comedic persona that resonates with fans and followers, particularly on TikTok. His passion for connecting with audiences extends beyond social media through his live performances and international touring, as well as his work championing Ghanaian talent as the convener of Promiseland Festival.
That connection between music, culture and community was further underscored this month through his partnership with Chelsea FC for the club’s London to the World global cultural campaign. A lifelong Chelsea supporter, King Promise created “Can’t Tame Us,” the club’s official anthem, bringing together his love of football, music and his Ghanaian roots. The accompanying visuals feature the “Rent Paid” Football Tournament hosted by King Promise and Chelsea FC in Accra, marking the first time the club’s new home kit touched African soil, alongside scenes at SDA Park in Nungua, where he grew up playing football.
The collaboration is further explored in Chelsea FC’s mini-documentary, which traces King Promise’s journey back to the streets of Nungua and the community that helped shape his dreams. It also highlights the continued impact of his Rent Paid initiative, connecting his international achievements with his commitment to giving back to the community that raised him.
As King Promise continues to expand his global footprint, “Melody” brings the focus back to the essence of his artistry: creating timeless, feel-good music that connects people through love, rhythm and emotion. Coming off a period marked by international collaborations, cultural milestones and continued global recognition, the single signals the next step in a journey that continues to put Ghanaian music in front of the world.
“Melody” is available now on all digital streaming platforms.
