Nollywood actress Regina Daniels is celebrating her 25th birthday, and she marked the occasion by opening up about a health challenge that has affected her mobility for several months.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday, the actress, who appeared in a wheelchair, gave an update on her recovery and expressed gratitude to God.
Regina revealed that she lost her freedom to move around as she pleased for several months after what started as something minor. She noted that things took a major turn after the last public gathering she hosted, her "Children's Day Carnival."
She described the experience as one test after another, adding that the pain became excruciating and that there were times she could walk and other times she could not move at all. She said she cried and looked to God for divine healing.
The embattled actress, however, revealed that there have been significant developments in her recovery, and she decided to live closer to her labs and, most importantly, to her children.
Regina Daniels shared that she initially rented the space but felt a need to own it, and from the day she made a down payment, everything in the house came as gifts.
She thanked those who gifted her items, including furniture from a woman she described as an embodiment of motherhood, a solar system from a friend, and a TV from a special friend.
She also recounted her visit to her babies, describing it as feeling like she had just had them, and said this year is nothing short of God's blessings.
She said:
"Hi everyone! It's my Silver Jubilee. This new phase of my life, I pray to God for Total calm. Happy Birthday to me. I know many of you may be surprised at seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions of my absence. So, perfect day to give a response to those who actually, genuinely care. For several months now, I lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this. But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted: my 'Children's Day Carnival'."
"It's been one test after another that I jokingly started calling myself a lab rat. But, the pain became, how can I explain this, the pain became excruciating. Sometimes I find myself walking, well, and sometimes I just can't move. I cried, I looked on to God for His divine healing, as He alone has the final say on my life. Tell me, tell me how else to completely break me that's so full of life, other than being completely dependent on something or someone to make the tiniest step."
"Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with you all, is because there's been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord. I made the decision to live somewhere, you know, closer to my labs, and most importantly, to my heart, my babies. At first, I rented the space. But from the moment I stepped my feet here, I just, I just had this need to own it. Now, here is the most juiciest part. From the exact day I made a down payment on this house, everything, everything I have in here came as a gift."
"Look at my furniture. I mean, this beautiful, timeless piece was gifted to me by an adorable woman, who was introduced to me by a very special somebody. My hairstylist. I like to refer to her as an embodiment of motherhood. So, thank you. And then, there is my solar. I mean, I have 24-7 lights. What better way to show your love to somebody living in Nigeria, other than giving them a gift? Giving them 24-7 lights. And that's all thanks to my friend, brother, father, Bestik. Ike Best. Thank you. And then, there is my TV, by a special friend. Basically, everything I have in this house. You name them, they were all gifts."
"Another sweet memory I would love to share is my visit to my babies. That day felt like, it felt like I had just had them. It felt like I was reliving the exact moment I held them for the first time in life. Hey! What's wonderful? So now, it's safe to say that this year is nothing short of God's blessings. And in any situation I find myself, I will continuously give all glory and adoration to God Almighty. For what He's done in my life, what He's doing, and what He's yet to do. So help me, God."
