Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has poured out his heart in an emotional tribute to his late friend and brother, Alexx Ekubo, who passed away on May 11.
In a deeply moving video shared on Instagram, Ogbonna reflected on the pain, the silence, and the unanswered questions that come with losing someone so close. He admitted that nothing could have prepared him for the reality of Alexx’s absence — the empty chair, the phone that will never ring again, and the conversations that will forever remain unfinished.
Ogbonna spoke candidly about how people often treat death as something distant, something that happens to “someone else,” until it hits home. He questioned why people postpone love, forgiveness, and simple phone calls as though tomorrow is guaranteed.
Despite the heartbreak, he found solace in knowing that Alexx lived fully — loving, giving, laughing loudly, and showing up for others. He urged everyone to live intentionally, forgive quickly, and cherish the people they have while they still can.
He ended his tribute by thanking Alexx for the memories, the brotherhood, and the impact he left behind.
His words captured the fragility of life and the enduring power of love, presence, and kindness — a reminder that tomorrow is never promised.
