The adopted daughter of the late Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has taken to social media to pay tribute to him following his passing in March in a Lagos hospital after battling an illness.
Jasmine, in her tribute, expressed gratitude to God for the love and laughter Mr. Ibu brought into their lives, stating that she was thankful for being able to reciprocate that love until his final moments.
However, she also addressed the contentious issues that arose during Mr. Ibu's illness, particularly the strained relationship between herself and Mr. Ibu's wife over the management of his finances and health.
Jasmine lamented that despite her efforts to do good, her actions were often misconstrued as evil.
She revealed that Mr. Ibu had promised to address these issues and clear the air, but unfortunately, that day never came before his passing.
She wrote, "You always promised me that the day you will speak, the world will listen, and that gave me the audacity to carry on.
"Now I am broken because that day is never coming, maybe the stories will never end, maybe the bullying will never stop, but I know and I’m grateful for the ray of hope you gave me even when you felt hopeless."
