Celebrated Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has denied the accusations surrounding his alleged involvement in domestic violence, emphasizing that he is firmly against any form of abuse.
Addressing the issue in an interview with the media, Okanlawon described the claims as ‘baseless’ and attributed them to misconceptions arising from his portrayal of certain characters in movies.
The actor expressed his frustration with the rumors, labeling them as "the most ridiculous" he has encountered about himself.
During the interview, Okanlawon vehemently refuted any association with domestic violence, asserting, "I'm not an abuser; I have a soft spot that does not allow me to even tolerate domestic violence, let alone be associated with it as an abuser."
He revealed that he contemplated becoming a pastor, describing it as more of a calling than a career choice.
He stated, "I don’t think I can call it a career path; it would have been more of a calling. I think I would have been a pastor [if I wasn’t an actor]."
