Liz Anjorin Dedicates Award To ‘Haters’

On Sunday, June 22, 2014, the 10 Degrees Events Centre in Lagos came alive as one of Nigeria's leading softsells in Nigeria, City People Magazine, rolled out drums for the 5th City People Nigeria/Ghana Entertainment Awards.

With the opening speech made by the publisher of the publication, Seye Kehinde, the stage was set for the event anchored by Soundcity's Adams, Silverbird TV's Yvonne Vixen Ekwere and MC Abbey to begin. Performances were from Oritsefemi, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Patoranking, Phyno, Praiz, Reminisce and other top notch music acts.

Veterans in the Entertainment industry such as, Sir Shina Peters, Dr. Adewale Ayuba, Femi Kuti, Pasuma, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) and a host of others were awarded special recognition awards.

Big names in the entertainment industry were also honoured with plaques and honourable mentions, with majority dedicating their awards to God, family and friends.

One of the highlights of the award ceremony was when Yoruba actress, Liz Anjorin, got her award as the Yoruba Movie Personality of the Year and dedicated it to her late casts and crews members as well as 'all her haters'. This got a resounding cheer from the audience.
