The darker the inside, the brighter the outside.

Based on the above quote, I would like to show you why I said the E-learning platform developed for the SHS has a leadership problem in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which made it necessary for all schools in Ghana to be closed down to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The name of the platform is called ICAMPUS.

Let me congratulate the leadership of the E-learning platform for coming out with such a proactive initiative.

But I would like to throw these questions out for contemplation for the leadership of the E-learning platform called iCAMPUS on the quote below.

He who knows all the answers has not been asked all the necessary questions ~ Confucius

But did the leadership look at all the necessary options available before coming up with the app?

Did they also think it prudent to make the use of the platform in the offline mood for Students?

Did they involve all the necessary stakeholders? If yes, then did they also asked questions about how many students are having the necessary tools like the laptops, desktops, smartphones etc?

Did they also consider how the students will be able to afford Data in this our hardship economy?

Did they consider how those in the villages and the Hamlets hardly have access to good network?

One thing I have noticed as a Ghanaian is that, we always rush in making or taking decisions without exploring all the available options.

For time immemorial, Ghana has good policies but the implementation wise is our major problem.

The E-learning platform developed has a lot of shortfalls. Simply because the leadership did not consider those in the villages and the Hamlets. Even if they were put into consideration, did they asked themselves how many of such students are having the resources in those villages and in the Hamlets which will enable them to make use of the platform for the purpose of which it was launched? Our ICT base here in Ghana is as weak as an impotent man's penis. And all these things were not put into account before coming out with the app.

We always do things or come up with policies which is more beneficial to those in the cities at the detriment of those in the villages and in the Hamlets. Is it any fault of theirs to be located in the villages?

To me, the leadership should have done intensive piloting before coming up with the E-learning platform for SHS students. I do not know the cost involved in coming up with the app but its intended purpose is at stake.

How many students are aware of the E-learning platform as at now?. No intensive education concerning the E-learning platform developed.

What the leadership should know is that it's not enough to just come up with the app. A lot needs to be done.

My suggestion at this juncture to the leadership of the platform is that they should go back and do the needful by considering making the use of the app free of charge for all students in Ghana. If the app can also be used in such a way that, even without network those in the villages can have access to it I would be delighted.

How will the students be monitored as to whether they're using the platform assiduously if all these abnormalities are being rectified with immediate alacrity?

Please the leadership should go back to look at all other options that will be beneficial to all. Because in reality, the platform is discriminatory as to whether it's discriminatory to the first, second or third-degree level I do not know.

The leadership should always reflect on the following quotes which to me will put them on their toes for better work to be done.

1. Well done is better than Well said ~ Benjamin Franklin

2. There is a difference between being in a position of power and being in a position of responsibility. Elders in traditional communities do not take power; they take responsibility and empower others ~ Sobonfu Some.
