The Koforidua Secondary-Technical School Old Students Association (Mmarima Mma) is putting up a multi-purpose assembly hall for the school for its social activities.

The GH¢7,000,000 project, which is expected to be completed in 2020, is being financed through voluntary contributions and fundraising activities.

Mr Scofray Nana Yaw Yeboah, President of the association, disclosed this at the end of the association's Health Walk in Accra.

The walk dubbed ''GH¢20.00 for Multi-Purpose Assemble Hall', started from the El-Wak Sports Stadium through to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation area, the Nima Police Station and some principal streets of the capital and ending at the starting point.

It was aimed at raising funds to support the assembly hall project and also to sensitise the public on the need to keep fit at all times.

Mr Yeboah said the association had also formed the Eastern Connect, aimed at soliciting for funds to supply about 15,000 elective text books for some selected Senior-High Schools in the Region.

He named the schools as Koforidua Sec/Tech, Pope Johns, Okuapemman, Anum, St Peters, Ghanass, Krobo Girls, Abuakwa State College, St Roses, Oda, Suhum Sec-Tech and Aburi Girls.

Mr Yeboah commended the authorities of Koforidua Sec-Tech for instilling a high sense of discipline among the students, which had enabled them to chalk successes over the years, and charged them to continue studying hard to achieve higher academic laurels in the ensuing years.
