Krymi Gathers Support For Upcoming Musicians

Accra, July 30, GNA - Henry Nuamah, popularly known in the music circles as "Krymi", has rallied support for the countless underground artists, who are striving to rise up in the Ghanaian music industry.

"Krymi" who just released his first single titled "Dede" after joining the "Highly Spiritual Music" record label, has indeed proven to be one of the exceptional music prodigies, having featured in popular music talents search programs such the "Hitmaker" and "Stars of the Future".

But "Krymi" in an interview with GNA, said no significant strides have been made in the local showbiz industry, adding that, it has not been made lucrative enough to draw the massive investment that would be beneficial across board.

"For me I believe we have music in us naturally and I would plead with the industry players to support artists especially the underground ones.

"I can say that, only a few are benefiting from music industry in Ghana with other industry players and underground artists unable to rise within the music ranks due to lack of support," Krymi stated.

"Krymi" said most underground artists, who are exceptionally talented are suffering as they spend most of their times in the studio trying to bring out the best in them.

"We have to create an opportunity for young musicians to explore their talents and make some benefits out of it. We have to help young musicians to rise to the top. I have been there before and sometimes it's difficult to get someone to hear you out.''

He said, there was the need to take a critical look at the scope of Ghanaian music considering the global dynamism of music.

"When you watch the BET and the Bill Boards Awards, you see growth as compared to ours and this is because the technology is there.

"I think we are not learning and we are telling ourselves that this is how we do it and it shouldn't change but things have to be upgraded, so we progress," he added.
