Members of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) and the lower court bench will receive reviewed salary arrears in two instalments in November and December 2026.
The first payment will cover January to May 2026, while the second will cover June to October 2026.
Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister of Finance, announced the payment schedule in a letter dated November 2, 2026.
The letter said President John Dramani Mahama had approved the implementation of new conditions of service for Judicial Service staff and members of the lower court bench, effective January 1, 2026.
The approval was granted pursuant to Article 149 of the 1992 Constitution.
The Minister said the Government had approved the payment of the associated arrears as part of its resolve to prevent the accumulation of salary arrears.
“In line with Government's resolve not to accrue arrears, approval is hereby granted for the payment of the associated arrears per the schedule below,” the letter stated.
The payment schedule provides for five months of arrears, covering January to May 2026, to be paid in November.
The remaining five months, covering June to October 2026, will be paid in December.
