Ghana @61: Ghanaians Encouraged To Be Nationalistic

Bishop Lawrence DC, the Senior Pastor of the Perez Chapel International, Kumasi has called on Ghanaians to be nationalistic in their endeavours to move the country forward in development.

He said Ghana at 61 was politically independent, but not economically and financially, which called for concerted efforts and selfless devotion to duty by the citizenry in every sphere of national life.

Bishop Lawrence DC made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency when the church held a special prayer festival dubbed: 'Ghana Will Not Fail' at the Perez Chapel International, Kwadaso-Ohwimase near Kumasi.

The prayer session formed part of the celebration of the country's 61st anniversary.

Quoting from Jeremiah 29:7, Bishop Lawrence DC urged Ghanaians to desist from unnecessary criticisms, blame-games and partisanship and always pray for the peace of the nation.

'If we want to succeed as citizens, we must first love and care for the welfare of our nation by drawing closer to God our creator in prayers and working hard with utmost patriotism, for the progress and development of our nation,' he admonished.

The Senior Pastor further advised the people to pray for God's intercession for the country's authorities to grant them wisdom and the fear of God to eradicate the canker of corruption in the country.
