Akrofrom (B/A) July 25, GNA - Nana Ameyaw Yeboah II, Chief of Akrofrom in Techiman municipality in Brong Ahafo has released a two-hectare plot of land for the construction of a new market estimated at 10 million cedis.
Nana Yeboah appealed to families to agree for the necessary rituals to be performed for the exhumation of dead relatives at the old cemetery to pave way for the project to begin.
He asked Techiman Municipal Assembly and the Aworowa Area Council to ensure that traders moved to the new market when completed. In another development, Nana Yeboah called on the Assembly to assist the community to remove a huge refuse dump at the project site and also to provide modern containers for refuse.
Mr. Anthony Twi, Assembly Member, announced that 600,000 cedis realized by the community through voluntary contributions had been used to construct a temporary market.
He commended Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi, Minister of Ports, Harbours and Railways, for providing a 12-seater KVIP public place of convenience at Konimase, a suburb of Akrofrom.
