
The Assembly members and government appointees in the Sunyani Municipal Assembly on Friday confirmed, Hon. Evelyn Amma Kumi Richardson,as the Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for the Sunyani Municipality following her appointment by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
A total of 49 assembly members, comprising 34 elected and 15 government appointees were present for the voting.
Out of the number, all the 49 Assembly members present voted 'YES' for Hon. Evelyn Amma Kumi Richardson,therefore giving a 100% endorsement.
Speaking after the confirmation and the swearing-in processes, the new MCE expressed her profound gratitude to the President Nana Adoo for the appointment in the capacity of a Municipal Chief Executive.
Hon. Evelyn Amma Kumi Richardson, also extended his gratitude to her Family members especially her husband,Party member(NPP) and the Honourable Assembly members for the show of confidence in him by his overwhelming endorsement.
"I would be MCE for all irrespective of political affiliation" she stated.
She assured of an open, transparent and accountable leadership which according to her are the necessary ingredients that would ensure the effective and efficient utilization of the resources of the municipality for optimum benefit of the people.
She was declared fully confirmed by Mr George Gyabaah , Brong Ahafo Director of the Electoral Commission.
The ceremony which took place at the Sunyani Municipal Assembly hall was graced by Brong Ahafo regional Minister Hon.Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh, MP for Sunyani East, Hon. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh and some DCE nominees across the region.
