On Saturday April 29, 2017 the campus of Islamic University College, Ghana (IUCG) will be a scene of pomp and pageantry, as the College prepares to roll out an innovative policy of graduation and matriculation simultaneously.
Dubbed "in-out" system, the new arrangement would constitute 13th matriculation of fresh students and 18th graduation of the cohort of students who have satisfied requirements for award of various degrees.
The four- year degree programs are Bachelor of Businesses Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Communication Studies, and Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies.
In an interaction, the President of IUCG, Dr. Mohsen Ma'arafi, states that the new policy is to offer the matriculants the opportunity to feel the beauty of graduation. This way, they would be encouraged to study hard to accomplish their academic dreams.
In the view of the College President, fresh students should not only be made to feel part of the College Community. "But they should, as well, be made to appreciate the challenges of studies and the honor in graduation", he adds.
The function is on the theme: "Making university education accessible to all: the role of IUCG, the Government, and Civil Society."
In attendance to grace the two-in-one novelty will be His Eminence the National Chief Imam, Shaikh Dr. Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, and the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will be the Guest of Honor.
Another essential feature of the function is the launch of the Journal of the College, "Islamic University Journal of Humanities (IJHAS)." The maiden edition of this journal contains scholarly articles authored by leading academics in Ghana and abroad.
The general public is cordially invited to the graduation-cum-matriculation. Be part of the honor! Be part of the success! Be part of the history!
