Minority Leader in Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu says evidence now abound that the Mahama-led administration is defrauding the state through various shady deals.

Enumerating a number of corrupt acts he alleged the government is being engaged in, he pointed to the rebranding of 116 metro mass buses at a cost of 3.6 million cedis as a clear evidence of how corrupt the government is.

According to official documents, rebranding of one bus cost the state almost 31,000 cedis but industry players say the figures are outrageously high.

Addressing the 15th Extraordinary Delegates' Conference of the New Patriotic Party at the Sunyani Coronation Park in the Brong Ahafo Region Saturday, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu flayed government for doing nothing to stop corruption.

“Rebranding of metro mass, simply put, [shows] the nation is being fleeced and the nation is bleeding under Mahama,” he told the conference.

The Conference is being attended by about 6,500 delegates from across the country under the theme “Arise for Change”.

The Minority Leader claimed President Mahama is supervising wanton corruption, which he said has given impetus to many to steal from the state.

“No wonder a deputy minister was aiming at getting one million dollars within four years,” he made reference to Victoria Hammah’s comments which caused her her removal from government.

He ridiculed President Mahama’s claim he is fighting corruption and challenged him to investigate the about 80-85% of contracts under his administration that were sole-sourced.

He further stated that the NPP is willing to join government’s fight against corruption if the president is able to come clean on the numerous mansions and properties including fuel stations persons in his administration have acquired.

He was convinced that those properties were acquired through corrupt means.

Without mentioning any specific road, the Minority Leader claimed the cost of most of the roads constructed by government were tripled.

He was unhappy that most contracts signed by the NDC government were done without considering value for money.

He, therefore, called on Ghanaians to reject the Mahama-led NDC and vote for change.
