Goldfields Ghana limited, Tarkwa Mine through its community affairs department has organized a 4 day program on the essence of hand washing in our environment at Abekoase a suburb of Tarkwa Nsueam Municipality.
The program encapsulates an effective training regime on water and sanitation and covered teams from 4 communities namely Abekoase, Huniso, pepesa, samahuu.
The exercise falls in line with the global hand washing day which is held annually on October 15.
Speaking to Modern Ghana in Tarkwa, Goldfields Community Affairs and Public Relation Superintendent Maud Ofori noted that the program was designed to capture notable areas like hand washing with soap and stressed the that it will helps prevent diseases like cholera diarrhea, and Ebola.
Superintendent Maud Ofori touched on what the training program entails and its significance to the people within the communities.
She also used the opportunity to appeal to the various committees in the communities to take the training serious to generate income to maintain the facility made available to them by Goldfields Ghana limited.
