JJ Rawlings Exposes Obed Asamoah Over Ownership Of Ningo Family Lands
27.09.2015 LISTEN

Reliable information gathered as regards the acquisition and ownership of over 15,000 acres of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene Family of Ningo land is being claimed by management of Volta Investment Company Limited through divestiture and by executive instrument during the Rawlings' regime is a complete forgery and fraudulent act by some officials of the Lands Commission in Accra.

The land in 1967 received a Supreme Court judgement with a judgment plan in the name and title of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene Family.

This paper has gathered that somewhere in 1968, just a year later after the judgement, a substantial portion of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene Family lands covering about 29,000 acres was caused to be vested in the National Liberation Council (NLC) government under Act 123 without any notification to the family.

Even though an Executive Instrument was used in acquiring the said described land as a Stool land in the Land and Concessional Bulletin of the Republic of Ghana on Friday 26th April 1968 on page number 8, the said land was and is still a family land of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene Family and not as being falsefully described as a Stool land. An indication that the land was fraudulently being stolen by some government officials branding the land as a Stool land.

However, after the end of the Rawlings' regime, the said land was claimed to have been given to the Volta Investment Company Limited, a private company which by law does not allow divestiture acquisition making process of acquiring it fraudulent.

A search requested at the Lands Commission with No. OS/6594/2013 by Billiamin Oluwasina Alimi showed that the said land was leased on November 10, 1998 from government to Volta Investments Company Limited.

The Family noted that its search on the land indicated that even though the land was registered in the name of Volta Investments Company Limited within the 27mile square on the Accra-Aflao road, but the Company suddenly kept expanding their site plan within the 30 to 31.5 mile square after their search declared the area as vacant creating confusion at the site.

The family was assisted by some good minded officials of the Lands Commission like executive officer, Regional Lands Officer named Alhassan who acknowledge receipt of their petition and advice the family not to pursue the matter in court and recommended that the Volta Investment Company settles the matter amicably out of court , since the lawyers of the company has called on him to resolve the issue.

But the family noted that till date nothing has been heard from either the lands commission or the lawyers of the company and indication that the family's petition has been ignored but rather using police to terrorize them.

The family also met Torgbe Sri II, a member of the Council of State, who expressed concerns and find amicable solution by arranging with them to meet Ex President Rawlings to table their issue.

But, information reaching us indicate that, the then President and Leader of the NLC, H. E. Jerry John Rawlings never released the said land to the Volta Investment Company Limited through divestiture as being claimed by its management.

Sources further reveal that an ex-government official and a staunch member of the NDC, Dr. Obed Asamoah who was a former Attorney General was the architect and shadow owner of what is now termed the Volta Investment Company Limited.

The company which was said to have been established in 1998 and claimed the divestiture was then offered in the same year, now has Dr. Anku as Director who then was under medical school training overseas.

The mind-boggling question which can be well argued is if Dr Anku, the shadow Director to the company is the owner, how could he have afforded 15,000 acres of land being put on divestiture for sale?

Meanwhile, it emerged that the said land which was initially in the hands of the Bank of Ghana was later given out to Afienya Cattle Range and later to the Volta Investment Company Limited through Divestiture even though it was a private entity.

Checks have revealed that should Volta Investment Company Limited be a public entity, its acquisition of the said land through divestiture would not have been questionable.

This revelation of ownership was broken when the family of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene paid a courtesy call on Ex-president Rawlings at his residence on 26th February, 2015 where the real owner of Volta Investment Company Limited was revealed to them, in the person of Dr. Obed Asamoah, an indication that the current judicial corruption started way back in 1998 by an NDC official who acted as then Attorney General using his good office to 'steal' the Ningo family land of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family in the name of Volta Investment Company Limited, after branding it as if it was a public/state entity.

It was also revealed that per the 1962 Constitution Act 123, Administration of Lands Act Section 7 (1), some lands vested in the hands of the State was duly reverted back to its owners, including Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family land at Ningo.

The outcome of the fruitful discussion with Ex-president Rawlings was an advice to the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family to take Dr Obed Asamoah and all Directors and management of Volta Investments Company Limited to Court to nullify their claim over the family land being fraudulently registered by some Lands Commission officials.

Further investigations revealed that the officer who connived and conspired with these NDC officials to register the land in the name of Volta Investment Company Limited run home on retirement to enjoy his booty just after the fraudulent registration of the land in the name of Volta Investment Company Limited.

The Volta Investment Company currently has Chief Inspector Gbedzra and Mr. E. C. Whyte Mensah former Town And Country Planning Director for Dangbe West, Dodowa as management staff.

Sources revealed that a search at the Lands Commission to prove the divestiture of the land in the name of Volta Investment Company Limited a private entity against which several petitions, letters of administration to the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Administrator of Stool Lands Commission, Ghana Police Service, IGP, Police CID Headquarters, the Ghana Armed Forces Command and the Publics Utility Workers Union challenging the ownership and authority over the family land which is supposed to be in the name of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family have been ignored due to a personality behind the registered company, Volta Investment Company Limited.

According to sources, from the Lands Commission Volta Investment Company Limited is currently operating as an Estate Developing company selling parcels of the land to prospective developers and being assisted by the police to perpetuate this act of fraud without approval of the family.

The Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family, legitimate owners per the Supreme Court Judgement in their favour has challenged Volta Investments Company Limited and the police at both the District, Regional and National level at the CID Headquarters to take them to court to justify their claim of 15,000 acres which purportedly was claimed to have been acquired by Volta Investments Company Limited.

But, for several years, Volta Investments Company Limited in connivance with police top hierarchy has regularly used police officers to molest prospective developers on the receipt and consent of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family.

The frustration and attacks by the police has led to the loss of lives of several elders of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family.

It has also been gathered that, Tema Regional District Police Inspector Yevoo and ASP A. Marteyfio from the Regional Police Headquarters who have been serving as landguards for Volta Investments Company Limited, left their contact numbers behind to be contacted anytime members of the Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family visit the site.

Other prospective buyers and beneficiaries including Workers Union of the Tema ECG, Ghana Water Company, Pioneer Foods and others are still suffering enormous damage to their properties as a result of attacks by the police patrol team from the Panthers Unit and the SWAT team from the Regional and National Headquarters.

It seems as if apart from the founder of the NDC party, most members of the party are aggressively amassing properties by stealing of Ga lands and creating factions among families to enable them drag their matters in court whilst government officials take advantage over these properties, either by acquiring it cheaply or forcefully taking it through the assistance of corrupt judges for false or bribed judgments.

The Tei Narteh Boso Buahene family is demanding that any interested party or stakeholder on the land should challenge them, the allodia owners in court or desist from coming on the land with police as landguards.

It further wishes to advice prospective developers, buyers or clients of Volta Investments Company Limited to stop doing business on the said land in Ningo located around the New Airport development area and the Bondase Range vicinity or suffer the legal consequences thereafter.

The family has further threatened that should government fail to do the right thing they would resort to fighting the Volta Investment Company on their land for stealing.
