Direct Aid International, a non-profit organization has awarded scholarship to six students in Abubakari Sadiq Islamic Senior High School in Tamale.
Mr. Ismail Ashraf, Director of The scholarship Scheme which was established said it was to support needy but brilliant students who have improved in their academics.
The school which was established by DirectAid was to empower the youth to be responsible citizens in the future.
According to Alhaji Sayibu Ibrahim, the scholarship scheme will cover the tuition and registration fees of Junior High School students who passed this year's Basic Education Certificate Exams and students in the Senior High Schools.
In the future, DirectAid will be sponsoring more students and venture into other project that will enhance the livelihood of the youth, he added.
Mr. Razak Mohammed, on behalf of the parents of the beneficiary students thanked the headmaster and board members of DirectAid for their wonderful contribution in education.
