DISREGARD FOR THE KONOR AND THE MANYA KROBO STATE AUTHORITIES

It has come to my notice that on Thursday the 21st June 2012, you, assisted by your deputy, commissioned some projects at Akuse. You however failed to give appropriate invitation to our Konor, Nene Sakite II, to grace the very important occasion as the custodian of the land on which the projects are situated.

As a result of your late invitation to the Konor, he could not attend the ceremony or designate a representative.

Are you aware we have just crushed a rebellion of the Osudoku State over Akuse and your action sends a signal to the Osudoku State that your outfit does not recognize the authority of the Manya Krobo State over Akuse which I deem very serious.

As leader of the team designated by the Konor and the Manya Krobo State to crush the Osudoku rebellion, I know the level to which Manya Krobo Nationalism has risen in recent times over Akuse, especially when it is suspected that some leading members of the government are behind the Osudoku rebellion against the Manya Krobo State, and I must caution you to tread appropriately in your dealings with Akuse which is Manya Krobo State property, in order not to incur our wrath.

What the Osudoku State sought to do recently was not to challenge the authority of the Manya Krobo State over Akuse, but rather to hide behind government legislation to have Akuse ceded to the district and the region to which they belong, in order to undermine the traditional authority of the Manya Krobo State over that important town of ours, which out of the magnanimity of the Krobos has provided home for natives of the Osudoku, only for them to undermine this goodwill gesture.

The position of AKuse in the history of Ghana is unambiguous. All the statute books and court rulings since colonial times recognize that Akuse is for Manya and the Osudoku State is aware and has not challenged this in their recent clandestine move to have Akuse cede to their district and region. You can request these facts about Akuse, if you are in doubt, and I am ready to furnish you with credible information.

In fact, anybody who does anything in Akuse without the knowledge of the Manya Krobo Traditional Authority, and not under the patronage of the Konor of Manya Krobo, or his representatives will be branded party to the conspiracy to undermine his authority over Akuse and will incur the wrath of the Manya Krobo State.

It raises eye brow, that the deputy minister who is a son of Manya Krobo also failed to properly inform the Konor and the Manya Krobo Traditional Authority of the ceremony at Akuse.

In order to correct the anomaly, I demand a public explanation and an apology for the late invitation delivered to the Konor for the 21st June ceremony at Akuse, and I hope it will not occur again or we shall advise ourselves.

Sincerely yours

Sgnd.

Odeopeor Nene Azago Kwesitsu I
