Accra , Aug 31, GNA - Management of Ghana Commercial Bank (GBC) on Monday inaugurated the Accra North-Circle Branch as the 152nd in the country.
Addressing a gathering in Accra to formally open the branch Ms Joyce Atta-Krah, General Manager of Retail Banking Division of GCB, said the Circle Branch was opened in order to serve the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and the Kokomlemle catchments areas.
"The area is full of business activities carried on by small and medium scale enterprises as well as other corporate giants. For that reason, management saw it expedient to choose the location to add to the Bank's existing network in order that people could transact business in a convenient way with the bank," she said.
With the opening of the Accra North-Circle branch, GCB consolidates its position as the leader and largest Bank in Ghana providing retail and consumer banking for customers and non-customers.
Located opposite the Vodafone Headquarters in Accra, the new branch offers all GCB's services including the GCB Express Money Transfer, Kudi Nkosuo, personal loans, staff loans, packages for all small and medium enterprises, GCB Fast International Money Transfer and GCB MoneyGram remittances.
The rest are Link2Home for Non-Resident Ghanaians, Commernet Plus (Internet Banking), Royal Banking and trade services, GCB Mastercard, and ReadyCash (ATM) services.
Ms Atta-Krah said since its birth in 1953, GCB had contributed towards the socio-economic development of the country and pledged that the bank would continue to provide banking services to the public.
She appealed to the public to effectively dialogue with management through the bank's information service outlets in order to improve customer satisfaction in the bank's service delivery.
Mr Stephen Hammond, the new Branch Manager, gave the assurance that staff of the new branch would work hard in order to serve customers better.
He expressed the hope that such hard work would translate into goodwill and enhance the corporate image of the bank.
