Dangers Of Mobile Phone

Dangers Of Mobile Phone
11.04.2009 LISTEN

Mobile phones could kill far more people than smoking, a study by an award-winning cancer expert by name Dr. Vini Khurana has concluded. He says people should avoid using them wherever possible and that government and the mobile phone industry must take "immediate steps" to reduce exposure to their radiation.

In an interview with peacefmonline, the customer Relations Executive of “I 2” Limited, main distributors of “Nokia” Phones in Ghana, Ms. Faith, admitted that, mobiles phones can save lives in emergencies, but adds that "there is a significant and increasing body of evidence which links mobile phone usage and certain brain tumours. She believes this will "definitively be proven" in the next decade.

Ms. Faith added that it is advisable for people to stop using several phones or a phone which uses two chips at the same time - because scientists have proven that radiation from two phones made an egg cook during an experiment - the reason why Nokia has not produced phones that uses two chips. Ms Faith was speaking in reaction to peacefmonline's follow up on a warning message on our waves and in newspapers that says “Don't answer a cell phone while it is being CHARGED!!” the warning also came with a story that, a person was charging his mobile phone whiles receiving a call and electricity flowed into the phone unrestrained and he was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud. According to the story, his family rushed into the room only to find him unconscious, with weak heartbeats and burnt fingers. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. So my little advice on this issue is that, a cell phone is a very useful modern invention, however, we must be aware that it can also be an instrument of death. Never use the cell phone while it is hooked to the mains or charging.

Adding more to Peace FM's concern, the Ministry of Roads and Transport, in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service has brought a press release to Peace FM, to warn drivers to desist from using their mobile phones whiles driving. In view of this, I will again advise our lawmakers to immediately pass comprehensive legislation banning the use of cell phones by drivers, and cell phone related activities, such as text messaging, in cars, except in the case of emergency because cell phones are a distraction to the driver, and because of this distraction, an epidemic of deaths results. Lawmakers need to address this now.
