Mr Daniel Kwaku Botwe, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Aspirant for Okere, has presented items valued at 1,900 Ghana cedis to some communities in the constituency.
The beneficiary communities included Amanfro, which had 50 bags of cement to construct markets sheds, Kobokobo, 40 bags of cement and two packets of roofing sheets to construct kindergarten classroom block and Nyame Bekyere, 50 bags of cements to construct a kindergarten classroom block.
Other communities included Akyeremateng, 20 bags of cements to construct a foot bridge and Awukugua Sanfo, which had 100 pieces of plastic chairs for outdoor activities.
Mr William Kwanor, Okere Constituency Chairman of NPP, presenting the items on behalf of Mr Botwe, said it was in fulfilment of appeal made by the communities to Mr Botwe during his campaign for Election 2008.
He said NPP was poised to win Election 2008 and urged the electorate not to be swayed by lies and propaganda of the opposition.
“As Ghanaians, irrespective of ethnicity and political affiliations, we must always guard against divisive politics that destroy each other,” he said.
Mr R.A Mantey, a representative of Amanfro Odikro receiving the items on behalf of the communities expressed appreciation to Mr Botwe for the gesture and gave the assurance that they would be well utilised to enhance their living standards.
