THE District Chief Executive for Krachi East, in the Volta Region, Michael Yaw Gyato, has commended the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Church for ensuring the spiritual and material needs of the people.
The DCE said the EP Church has contributed immensely to national development in areas like education, health and vocational training, and thereby congratulated the church for the feat in establishing its university.
He therefore called on religious bodies, institutions and individuals to team up in the development of the country by contributing their quota to compliment government’s effort.
Mr Gyato made the call at a rally organised by the E.P. Church choirs union of the Northern Presbytery at Dambai in the Volta Region.
The DCE stressed the need for religious bodies to always pray for the nation, especially as Ghana prepares for another general election.
He said it is only prayers that will enable the country to sail through another peaceful election and so urged the general public not to relent in their prayers.
Mr Gyato also called on the electorate to vote on issues rather than just listening to political gimmicks.
He therefore appealed to political parties and their supporters to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful and matured manner.
Reverend Nana Atoo, the Presbytary Chairman reminded Christians of the challenges and hardships they need to overcome as Christians.
You should be ready therefore to accept these obstacles as Christ did, he said.
