The Gomoa Central District Coordinating Director, Mr. Evans Mark Andoh, has announced that the Assembly will revamp its Area Councils located at Gomoa Aboso, Ekwamkrom, Asebu, and Gomoa Afransi to strengthen revenue collection across the district.
According to him, there are vast areas within the district with significant revenue‑generating potential, and the Assembly cannot rely solely on the District Assembly Common Fund to execute its development projects.
Speaking to the media after the Third Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Fourth Assembly at Gomoa Afransi last Wednesday, Mr. Andoh stated that he intends to motivate revenue officers to intensify their mobilization efforts to increase the Assembly’s internally generated funds.
He noted that the Assembly has numerous untapped revenue sources, and with well‑resourced Area Councils—equipped with adequate logistics and personnel—these units can effectively complement government efforts by delivering essential services to communities.
Mr. Andoh also expressed concern over the low number of women serving as Assembly Members. He encouraged women in the district to take advantage of the forthcoming District Level Elections to represent their communities, stressing that their presence is crucial in ensuring women’s voices are heard during decision‑making processes.

Touching on the District Assembly Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT XI) results, Hon. Aidoo announced that the Gomoa Central District Assembly successfully passed the 2026 assessment, scoring 60%. He commended the staff for their dedication and encouraged all officers to work towards an improved performance in the next assessment.
