Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to suspend the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, Zakaria Abdulai, over allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student.
The directive follows a media report alleging that the headmaster engaged in sexual misconduct against a student of the school in the Ashanti Region.
In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2026, the Ministry of Education said the minister considered the allegations serious and had instructed the GES Director-General to take immediate steps to suspend Mr Abdulai pending a full investigation.
Mr Iddrisu has also requested the police to commence investigations into the matter.
