NPP announces voter ID requirements for October 3 national conference

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the programme and identification requirements for delegates ahead of its national conference scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026.

A notice issued on September 30 by the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) said the conference would be conducted in two main phases, with delegates first considering proposed amendments to the party’s constitution before proceeding to the election of national officers.

The constitutional amendment session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., while voting in the national officers’ election is expected to commence at 12:00 p.m.

The party has urged constituency, regional and national officers, as well as delegates, to follow the programme and arrive at the venue early to ensure a smooth and orderly process.

According to the NOEC, voting will be conducted at 31 polling stations, where delegates will elect national officers to nine positions.

Among the positions to be contested are National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director, alongside other national executive positions.

The Electoral Commission (EC) will supervise the election and verify the identity of each delegate before allowing them to vote.

The NPP said delegates must ensure that their names appear on the official delegates’ register and must present at least one valid identification document for verification.

The accepted identification documents are the Ghana Card, Voter ID card and NPP party card.

Delegates have consequently been advised to attend the conference with at least one of the approved forms of identification to avoid delays during the verification exercise.

The party further encouraged delegates to arrive early and allow adequate time for verification before the commencement of voting.
