Prophet flees after shooting wife dead, claiming he mistook her for a bird

Police in Sangmélima, Cameroon’s South Region, are reportedly searching for Nnanga Nnaga Lucien after his wife, Liliane Nyangone, was shot dead.

Local reports have named Lucien, a prophet affiliated with a revival church, as the suspected shooter.

Reports further allege that Lucien took Nyangone’s body to a morgue, registered her under a false identity and then disappeared.

Nyangone’s family was later reportedly given an explanation attributed to Lucien that he had fired the weapon after allegedly mistaking his wife for a bird.

The claim has not been independently verified, and authorities had not officially confirmed Lucien’s arrest or released details of the investigation when the reports emerged.
