Toyota Hiace crashes Toyota Voxy from behind at Tsibu-Bethel Junction  

Two vehicles have been involved in an accident at the Bethel Junction, Tsibu in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region.

The accident involved a Toyota Voxy which was making a turn at the junction and a Toyota Hiace which was traveling behind it.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday evening at about 1825 hours, resulted in the Toyota Voxy being hit from behind.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), an eyewitness, Mr Godson, said the Toyota Voxy was attempting to turn at the Bethel Junction when it was hit by the oncoming Hiace.

He said the impact of the collision caused damage to both vehicles and left some passengers injured.

Mr Godson said residents around the junction quickly rushed to the scene to assist the victims before the arrival of emergency responders.

He appealed to drivers to exercise caution and reduce speed when approaching the Bethel Junction to prevent similar accidents.

The Ghana Police Service responded immediately to the scene to control traffic and ensure the safety of other road users.

The Police also assisted in ensuring that the injured were transported safely for medical attention.

All injured passengers have been sent to the Peki Government Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

Police have commenced investigations into the circumstances leading to the accident.
