The Base Movement launches online radio, website and operations manual

The Base Movement (TBM) on Monday, September 21, 2026, officially launched a triple-asset package at its national headquarters in Tesano, Accra, during a rally and unveiling ceremony addressed by its Chief Operations Coordinator, Mr. Jacob Osei Yeboah.

The launch, which coincided with Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day and the 117th birthday of Ghana's first President, Dr. Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, featured the unveiling of the TBM Online Radio Studio, a new website and the TBM Administrative Structures and Operations Manual.

Addressing a gathering of members, youth activists and diaspora supporters, the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) said the event marked a significant moment for the movement and described the occasion as a reminder of the need to pursue what it considers the true vision of Nkrumah's economic liberation.

The speech, read by Mr. Yeboah, who is also described as the political architect of the movement and head of its National Coordinating Committee, coincided with the commemoration of Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day.

"Fellow Citizens of Ghana, dynamic Youth of our Nation, and Dedicated Members of The Base Movement across the Globe, today we stand at a historic, unshakeable crossroads," Mr. Yeboah declared at the opening of his address.

He said the gathering in Tesano was not merely to inaugurate a studio but also to launch what he described as a powerful platform for what he termed "absolute truth", alongside a strengthened digital presence for the movement.

According to Mr. Yeboah, the occasion marked what he described as the definitive emergence of The Credible Political Alternate Force, which he said has the capacity to address what he considers decades of political decay in Ghana.

"This day is deeply historic. Today, 21st September, falls exactly on Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, marking the 117th birthday of Ghana's first President, Dr. Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. This is a divine reminder for Ghana and the entire African continent to wake up and live the true vision of Nkrumah!" he stated.

Mr. Yeboah argued that, just as Nkrumah led the struggle against colonial rule, The Base Movement had emerged to challenge what he described as economic domination under the two major political parties.

"For too long, our beloved nation has been held hostage by this parasitic, self-serving duopoly. The NPP and the NDC have operated like two sides of the same counterfeit coin," he said.

He accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of operating what he described as a political duopoly, alleging that the two parties had alternated in government while failing to adequately address youth unemployment and other economic challenges.

In a direct message to his political opponents, Mr. Yeboah said: "To the political shenanigans, the establishment thugs, and the media mercenaries of the duopoly who see our rapid, explosive rise and tremble: hear this clearly! The Base cannot be intimidated, we cannot be bought, and we will never be broken!"

He declared that what he described as the existing two-party political system was approaching its end, adding that TBM was being built around its Working Ghana Agenda (WGA), which he said seeks to promote merit-based employment opportunities for young people and support for elderly citizens and pensioners.

Mr. Yeboah subsequently announced the launch of the 3 assets, describing them as evidence of the movement's organisational structure and its stated objective of giving members greater participation in decision-making.

The assets comprise the Online Radio Studio, which he said would serve as the movement's media platform across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube; the new website, which he described as a global command centre; and the TBM Administrative Procedures and Operations Manual, which he said would serve as an institutional blueprint.

On the movement's digital transition, Mr. Yeboah said the NCC had taken steps to address what he described as a technical impasse that followed the July 3 Mega Walk in the Ashanti Region.

He said the decision was also aimed at protecting members' personal data from what he described as external interference and internal misuse.

"On Saturday, 19th September, at 7 PM, a crucial joint convergence took place involving both the APP A and APP C teams, the ICT resolution team, the NCC, and our Board members," he revealed.

Mr. Yeboah said the meeting reached a unanimous decision to render APP A and the .com domain redundant and migrate fully to the APP C platform hosted on the movement's new website.

He explained that the new portal includes membership registration for Ghanaians across all 276 constituencies and the diaspora.

He also said the movement had extended an offer to the team behind APP A to facilitate the merger of membership data, while warning that the NCC would pursue legal action in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and other jurisdictions against anyone it believes is unlawfully withholding data for personal gain.

On financial transparency, Mr. Yeboah stated: "Unlike the NPP and NDC that drain your blood and forget your name, The Base Movement operates on visible justice. From this moment on, your efforts will never be in vain."

He said members could contribute to the movement through debit and credit cards on the website, the USSD short code 4153475# or Mobile Money merchant number 059 756 7336.

According to him, contributions would be channelled into verified bank accounts and reflected on members' personalised dashboards. He added that the system would also provide virtual monetary tokens to members who participate in meetings and assist with registering new members.

Mr. Yeboah further emphasised that TBM does not operate around individual leadership but through committees, ranging from the National Coordinating Committee to Regional, Constituency and Polling Station Committees.

He said the movement's structure would remain open to individuals and groups associated with Hon. Alan Kyerematen's UP+ movement and supporters of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.

Concluding his address, Mr. Yeboah said: "We are past the storm, we have purged the weaknesses, and we are now dominating the national policy discourse. We are laying the unshakeable foundation today, organizing every territory, as we strategically prepare the ground to propel Hon. Kennedy Agyapong into the light in 2027!"
