Samuel Atta-Mills supports over 500 SHS freshers in KEEA with essential school items

Member of Parliament for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (K.E.E.A.) Constituency, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills, has supported more than 500 newly admitted Senior High School (SHS) students in the municipality with essential items to help them begin their secondary education.

Each beneficiary received a student trunk, chop box, mattress, mosquito net and school books as part of the educational support package.

The initiative forms part of the MP’s continued efforts to support young people in the K.E.E.A. Municipality and reduce some of the financial burden on parents and guardians as their children transition from basic to secondary education.

The gesture builds on Hon. Atta-Mills’ previous educational interventions. In 2025, his office also provided essential boarding and learning materials to newly admitted SHS students in the constituency, including mattresses, trunks, exercise books, chop boxes and mosquito nets.

As part of this year’s programme, two students who distinguished themselves in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) were also recognised for their outstanding academic performance.

Each of the two best-performing BECE students received GH¢1,000 from the MP as an academic award.

Presenting the items and awards, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills encouraged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously, study harder and strive for excellence throughout their SHS journey.

He assured the students that he would continue to do everything possible within his capacity to support their education and create opportunities that would enable them to achieve their academic aspirations.
