Four Ghanaians arraigned over alleged €225 million cocaine shipment to France

Four Ghanaians arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) over an alleged plot to export nearly four tonnes of cocaine from Ghana to France have been charged and arraigned before the High Court in Accra.

The accused are Desmond Koranteng Curiel, alias “Paul Kweku Yeboah” or “Biggs”; Musah Attah, alias “Kromo”; Kweku Otchere; and Jessica Hartog.

They appeared before the court on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, and were remanded for four weeks. They are expected to return to court on October 13, 2026.

The four are facing two charges, namely conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically the exportation of narcotic drugs without a licence issued by the Minister of Health, and the exportation of narcotic drugs.

The charges were filed on Wednesday, with proceedings taking place shortly afterwards.

A fifth accused person, Jos Leijdekkers, a Dutch national also known as “Bolle Jos”, is currently at large.

The case follows the seizure of nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine by French customs authorities at the northern French port of Dunkirk on September 10, 2026.

The consignment, reportedly valued at about €225 million on the street, was discovered concealed in a container carrying plastic waste that had arrived from Ghana. Some of the cocaine was reportedly intended for Antwerp, Belgium.

Following the seizure in France, NACOC announced the arrest of three suspects in Ghana in connection with the shipment.

The commission alleged that the suspects had represented and facilitated the activities of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos”, in Ghana.

NACOC subsequently commenced collaboration with French authorities to obtain additional information about the seized consignment as Ghanaian investigators sought to establish how the shipment allegedly left Ghana and ended up in France.
