HOSA 2026/27 group extends kindness to Accra Rehabilitation Centre

The 2026/27 Head of State Awards (HOSA) year group, made up of members from Wesley Girls, Holy Child and Mfantsipim Senior High Schools, has donated assorted items to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre in a bid to support vulnerable groups and the less privileged.

The donation was made on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Accra Rehabilitation Centre. The delegation was led by HOSA presidents Paa Kwadwo Smart, Samira Sufianu and Natasha Amarh-Adjei, representing Mfantsipim, Holy Child and Wesley Girls Senior High Schools, respectively.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders, Samira Sufianu said the gesture was intended to foster community support, assist those in need and instil the habit of giving in young people. She thanked club members for their generous contributions to the worthy cause and urged them to continue showing kindness and spreading love.

“We thank you all for your contributions and willingness to support the needy,” she said. “It is a blessing to give, and it is imperative for those who have to support those who have not.”

Items donated included food items such as cooking oil, rice, Kivo gari, sardines and mackerel. Other items were adult diapers, toilet paper, washing powder, used clothes and an undisclosed amount of money.

Also present were Mfantsipim HOSA Vice President Isaac Kontan Asare; Wesley Girls’ Ohemaa Offori-Attah; and Holy Child Vice Presidents Leizel Laryea and Ayeyi Anaman, including other members well all present.

The manager of the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Mr. Setch, on behalf of management, expressed profound gratitude to HOSA. He also expressed admiration for the students’ gesture and encouraged them to continue helping others, especially the needy.

HOSA stands for the Head of State Awards. It is a school-based club in some second-cycle schools in Ghana. Members focus on developing responsible and disciplined young leaders through community service, personal development and acts of kindness. The club encourages members to contribute positively to society by participating in donations, volunteering and helping people in need.
