GEA CEO Margaret Ansei signs MoU with US Virgin Islands to strengthen partnership

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Margaret Ansei, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the GEA and the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (USVIEDA).

According to Margaret Ansei, the agreement forms part of efforts to deepen trade and investment cooperation between Ghana and the U.S. Virgin Islands while creating new opportunities for businesses in both jurisdictions.

She made the disclosure in a Facebook post following a visit by a delegation from the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority, which concluded with a Business and Tourism Reception.

Ms. Ansei said she had the honour of signing the MOU on behalf of the Ghana Enterprises Agency, describing the agreement as a significant step towards strengthening commercial relations and expanding market access for businesses.

The Business and Tourism Reception brought together government officials, business leaders and other key stakeholders to network, explore investment opportunities and establish strategic partnerships.

The GEA CEO said the agency remains committed to building partnerships that empower businesses, improve competitiveness and position Ghanaian enterprises to take advantage of opportunities in regional and international markets.

“We look forward to working closely with USVIEDA to translate this partnership into tangible outcomes that drive economic growth and shared prosperity,” she stated.

Margaret Ansei also expressed appreciation to the Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, Kofi Okyere-Darko, for his support and collaboration in making the visit and reception successful.

She further acknowledged the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, Presidential Staffer for the Black Star Experience, Rex Omar, and CEO of Kinky Matters, Lydia Forson, for their contributions towards the initiative.

According to Ms. Ansei, the collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment to promoting Ghana, strengthening diaspora engagement and creating opportunities in business and tourism.

She said the partnership would help build stronger bridges between Ghana and the U.S. Virgin Islands in the areas of trade, investment, tourism and long-term economic collaboration.

The agreement is expected to provide a platform for closer engagement between businesses and institutions from Ghana and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with a focus on expanding commercial opportunities and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
