A baby girl believed to be about three months old has been found abandoned in a bush between Faithkorpe and a nearby checkpoint in the Ada area of the Greater Accra Region.
The infant was discovered by a 20-year-old farmer, identified as Julius Tottimeh, while he was on his way to his farm at Dordoekopey on Monday, August 17, 2026.
According to an extract from the Ada District Police Station diary sighted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Tottimeh heard the sound of a baby crying from a nearby bush at about 9:45 a.m.
He followed the cries and found the infant wrapped in a cloth and lying beneath a tree.
Mr Tottimeh reportedly rescued the baby and took her to the Ada East District Hospital for medical assessment and further necessary action.
He later reported the incident to the Ada District Police Headquarters at about 10:00 a.m. the same day.
The circumstances surrounding how the infant came to be abandoned at the location remain unclear.
The police are expected to investigate the incident and work to identify the baby’s parents or guardians.
