'Sustainable educational development is best achieved through collaboration' — GETFund Administrator

The Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Paul Adjei, has reaffirmed the Fund's commitment to expanding education infrastructure through stronger partnerships with the private sector and philanthropic organisations.

He said GETFund's Education Financing and Partnership Initiative (EFPI) is designed to mobilise additional resources to complement government investment in education and improve learning facilities across the country.

Mr Adjei made the remarks on Thursday, August 6, at the sod-cutting ceremony for a 250-bed boys' boarding house at Achimota School.

The facility is being donated by Managing Director of Saka Homes and old student of the school, Ebenezer Saka Addo-Mensah, under the EFPI.

"At GETFund, we firmly believe that quality education depends not only on excellent teaching but also on the availability of safe, modern, and conducive learning facilities."

The GETFund Administrator described the project as more than the construction of a new boarding facility, noting it reflects a collective commitment to preserving excellence in education while creating an environment that enables students to thrive.

He commended Mr. Saka Addo-Mensah for giving back to his alma mater, describing the donation as an example of the critical role alumni can play in advancing educational development in Ghana.

Mr Adjei explained that the EFPI will support investment in classrooms, laboratories, libraries, lecture theatres, student accommodation and other essential infrastructure needed to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

"The EFPI represents a strategic platform to mobilise additional resources, attract private sector investment, deepen philanthropic engagement, and foster innovative partnerships that complement public financing of education," he noted.

According to him, strategic partnerships between government, the private sector and alumni groups remain essential to achieving sustainable educational development.
