AMA opens recruitment for heavy-duty equipment operators to strengthen city operations

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has opened recruitment for qualified and experienced heavy-duty equipment operators as part of efforts to strengthen sanitation, waste management and emergency response operations across the metropolis.

The initiative formed part of the AMA’s broader commitment to improving public service delivery and building a cleaner, safer and more orderly Accra.

The Mayor of Accra, Mr Michael Kpakpo Allotey, who announced this, stated that it would provide the Assembly with a reliable pool of skilled personnel to operate heavy-duty machinery for refuse collection, waste evacuation, drain desilting, debris removal and post-flood clean-up exercises.

He said the recruitment was therefore necessary to improve the Assembly’s operational capacity and ensure timely responses to sanitation and environmental challenges within the city.

According to him, successful applicants would be assigned to support the Assembly’s sanitation, waste management, drainage, emergency response and other city improvement activities. Applicants are also required to have relevant experience in operating the equipment for which they are applying and possess the appropriate licence or certification for operating heavy-duty machinery.

He indicated that the Assembly is also seeking disciplined, hardworking and adaptable individuals capable of working under pressure and supporting various operational assignments.

Qualified and experienced applicants have been encouraged to submit their application letters, copies of valid licences or certificates, curriculum vitae and other relevant supporting documents to the Human Resource Department of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
