Describing me as the worst-performing MP is demotivating and dangerous — Stephen Amoah

The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Stephen Amoah, has rejected the findings of a Global InfoAnalytics poll that ranked him among the worst-performing legislators, describing the assessment as unfair and misleading.

The survey, which assessed the performance of Members of Parliament across selected constituencies, ranked Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP Frank Annoh-Dompreh among the top performers while placing Mr. Amoah among the lowest-rated MPs.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, July 22, the Nhyiaeso lawmaker said the findings did not reflect the work he has undertaken in his constituency over the past six years, insisting his record speaks for itself.

"This is very, very demotivating. This is very dangerous because I believe in myself that with my performance within six years and with the opportunity I had, what I've done, I don't think you can get more than 10 MPs to do what I have done. Mr. Donkor should come again because I find it very strange," he said.

The former Deputy Finance Minister cited several initiatives he said he had personally supported, including financial assistance to traders, improving security at markets, supporting employment opportunities and investing in education.

He stressed that an objective assessment of his performance should involve consultations with beneficiaries of his projects rather than relying solely on survey responses.

"I think I cannot be rated as a low performer with all that I've done. They should go to the schools and ask the headmasters and the teachers what Stephen Amoah has been doing there. I beg them, misinformation is as toxic as anything bad you can think of," he stated
