Aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has pledged to rebuild and unite the party in the region ahead of the 2028 general election.
The former Afigya Kwabre constituency chairman made the pledge after undergoing vetting for the position on Tuesday, July 21, expressing confidence in his chances of winning the upcoming regional delegates' conference.
He said his leadership would focus on strengthening party structures, increasing the NPP's electoral fortunes in the Ashanti Region and running a campaign centred on ideas rather than personal attacks.
"My vision is to build a strong and united party where structures work effectively. I am ready to lead Asante with less talk and more action, less noise and more progress, less speeches and more work," he said.
COKA called on party members to work together to protect the NPP's constitution and restore the party's electoral dominance, stressing that the ultimate objective of every political party is to win political power.
He further promised to pursue lawful strategies to increase both the party's presidential votes and parliamentary seats in the Ashanti Region as part of efforts to secure victory in the 2028 elections.
"I am coming to lead Ashanti Region for us to do everything legally possible to increase our presidential votes, increase our parliamentary seats, so that we can win Election 2028. I am ready to run a clean campaign, respectful campaign, idea-based campaign," he stated.
