Ghanaian actor and comedian Kofi Gharbin, popularly known as Mr. Happiness, has called for the arrest of contractors responsible for the poor state of the Achimota–Ofankor road, describing the situation as unacceptable despite repeated repair works.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio, Kofi Gharbin expressed frustration over several potholes on the stretch, which he said continue to endanger motorists and commuters.

"If I have the chance to meet the Road Minister, those who were given the contract to fix the potholes on the Achimota to Ofankor road should be arrested," he stated.

According to the actor, Ghana continues to spend huge sums of public money on road projects, yet many contractors deliver substandard work that deteriorates within a short period. He argued that those who fail to execute road contracts to the required standard should be held accountable instead of being awarded new contracts.

Kofi Gharbin noted that the poor condition of roads across the country has become a major concern, contributing to traffic congestion, damage to vehicles, and increasing the risk of road accidents. He stressed that quality road construction is essential for the safety and well-being of Ghanaians.

The Achimota–Ofankor road remains one of the busiest routes in the Greater Accra Region, serving thousands of commuters daily. Calls for urgent repairs and improved supervision of road projects have continued as motorists complain about the worsening condition of the road.
