
A total of 26 aspirants, comprising 5 women and 21 men, have filed their nomination forms to contest various executive positions in the Gomoa Central Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Briefing the media after the vetting and balloting exercise at Gomoa Ekwamkrom, Chairperson of the Gomoa Central NPP Election Committee, Hon. Mrs. Ophelia Mensah Hayford, disclosed that three aspirants are contesting the Chairmanship position. They are Mr. Joseph Kofi Mensah, Madam Dinah Efua Aubyn and Mr. Edward Mintah, in that order on the ballot paper.
For the Constituency Secretary position, the contenders are Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Adam, Mr. Isaac Duku and Madam Adelaide Entsie. The Deputy Secretary position is being contested by Mr. Bernard Tweneboa Kodua and Mr. Ebenezer Aquah.
The former Member of Parliament further stated that Mr. John Kweku Donkoh and Mr. Nicolas Odeneho Asamoah are vying for the 1st Vice Chairmanship position, while Mr. Ransford Mensah and Mr. Isaac Gyesi Korsah are contesting the 2nd Vice Chairmanship position.
Three aspirants, Mr. Martin Nkum, Mr. Samuel Adams and Mr. Isaac Inkoom, are seeking election as Constituency Organizer.
In what she described as an "all-women affair," Madam Hannah Tetteh, Madam Ohenebeng Boadi and Madam Sophia Baah are contesting the Constituency Women's Organizer position.
For the Treasurer position, Mr. Prince Kojo Afful and Mr. Osbert A. Sam are the two contenders.
The Youth Organizer position is being contested by Mr. Bernard Otoo and Mr. Enoch Brown, while Mr. Kennedy Martey and Mr. Peter Mensah are vying for the position of Constituency Communications Officer.
Two aspirants, Alhaj Baba Adam Musah and Alhaji Kasim Abubakar, are contesting the NASARA Coordinator position.
Hon. Mrs. Mensah Hayford urged all aspirants to conduct issue-based and peaceful campaigns free from insults and personal attacks, stressing the need to preserve unity within the party.
Speaking on behalf of all the aspirants, the three Chairmanship candidates pledged to conduct peaceful and decent campaigns ahead of the elections.
