The Africa Nonprofit Summit 2026 (ANPOS 2026) brought together nonprofit leaders, policymakers, regulators, development partners, social innovators and changemakers from across the continent to explore practical strategies for strengthening Africa's nonprofit sector.
The high-level summit, organised by the National Consortium for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO Ghana) in collaboration with The Partnership Bureau, was held on May 12, 2026, at the ISSER Conference Hall of the University of Ghana under the theme, "Empowering Nonprofits: Innovation for Sustainable Impact."
The event provided a platform for learning, collaboration, networking and dialogue on building resilient and sustainable nonprofit organisations capable of delivering greater social impact.
Building on the success of previous editions, this year's summit featured opening remarks, a keynote address, panel discussions, interactive breakout sessions, exhibitions and networking opportunities designed to equip nonprofit organisations with practical tools, innovative ideas and sustainable growth strategies.
Discussions focused on resource mobilisation for sustainable nonprofits, strategic communication and marketing, the application of artificial intelligence in monitoring, evaluation and learning, and transformational leadership for nonprofit growth and influence.
A major highlight of the summit was the launch of the Nonprofit Compliance Guide, a practical reference document developed to help nonprofit organisations better understand their regulatory obligations.
The guide covers compliance requirements involving the Office of the Registrar of Companies, the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust, and the Nonprofit Organisations Secretariat.
Participants also engaged directly with representatives of key regulatory institutions during a dedicated compliance session aimed at improving understanding of governance standards, accountability requirements and regulatory responsibilities.
Since its introduction in 2024, the Africa Nonprofit Summit has continued to establish itself as a growing platform for advancing leadership, innovation, collaboration and sustainability within Africa's nonprofit ecosystem.
