The Greater Accra Kusaasi Chief, Naba Billia Tiɛwin Alhaji Faisel Mahama Abugri, has called on the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service (GES), and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that Kusaal is introduced into schools beginning the next academic year.

He made the appeal while addressing participants on behalf of the Paramount Chief of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Zug-Raan Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, at the Tripartite Launch of the Kusaal, Likpakpaanl, and Sissali Orthographies.

Naba Billia Tiɛwin Faisel Mahama Abugri stressed that introducing Kusaal into the educational system would play a vital role in preserving the language, promoting literacy, and strengthening the cultural identity of the Kusaasi people.

He urged the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and all relevant institutions to work collaboratively to ensure that the necessary teaching materials, curriculum, and trained teachers are made available for the successful implementation of Kusaal language instruction in schools.

According to him, the launch of the standardized orthographies marks a significant milestone in the development and preservation of Ghana's indigenous languages and should be followed by practical steps to make the languages accessible to younger generations through formal education.

Speaking on behalf of Zug-Raan Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, the Greater Accra Kusaasi Chief reiterated the Paramount Chief's commitment to promoting education, safeguarding the Kusaasi cultural heritage, and supporting initiatives that preserve indigenous languages.

The Tripartite Launch of the Kusaal, Likpakpaanl, and Sissali Orthographies brought together traditional authorities, education experts, language practitioners, and other stakeholders to celebrate the development of standardized writing systems aimed at enhancing literacy, education, and the preservation of Ghana's linguistic diversity.

Can all languages in Ghana or the world be taught in our classrooms? And how much are the Kusasi people requesting for this contributing to the investment in resources to GES? How much do they contribute to national coffers or taxes to demand for this? Every tom dick gets up and proposes things without thinking.
