Members of Alagumgube, a development advocacy group with roots in northern Ghana, and led by Francisca Mbom, joined fellow Ghanaians at a special dinner held in honor of Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, at the Hilton Hotel in Virginia, United States.
The gathering formed part of activities aimed at rallying support for the Black Stars as they embark on their FIFA World Cup campaign. The event brought together Ghanaian community leaders, supporters, and well-wishers who expressed their confidence in the team ahead of the tournament.
Representatives of Alagumgube attended the dinner to offer their support, encouragement, and prayers to the national team. The group used the occasion to wish the players success and call for unity among Ghanaians as the Black Stars seek to make the nation proud on the global stage.
A video from the event showed members of the group interacting with players and officials while joining other attendees in extending goodwill messages to the team. Their presence underscored the commitment of Ghanaian advocacy groups in the diaspora to national causes beyond community development.
Alagumgube has over the years championed development initiatives and community-focused activities, particularly among northern Ghanaian communities. Its participation in the dinner highlighted the group's belief in the power of sports to unite people and inspire national pride.
The Black Stars are currently based in the United States as part of their World Cup preparations and are expected to engage with Ghanaian communities and supporters ahead of the tournament.
As they begin their World Cup journey, the support and prayers from groups such as Alagumgube serve as a reminder of the strong backing the team enjoys from Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
