Eastern Regional Minister commissions 11 DACF projects in Birim Central

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has commissioned 11 projects funded under the District Assemblies Common Fund in the Birim Central Municipality to expand access to education, healthcare, and clean water.

The projects include a 3-unit classroom block at Frimpong Manso JHS, an L-shaped KG block at SDA, and a Health Centre at Community 6.

The rest are an Operating Theatre attached to the maternity block at Oda Government Hospital, a CHPS compound at Yeboahkrom, and six boreholes spread across Yeboahkrom, Essam, Larbikrom, Aseneye, Oda Zongo, and Metcoe.

Speaking at the ceremony in Oda, on Tuesday, Mrs Awatey said the government remains focused on delivering visible, people-centred development by prioritising interventions that directly improve livelihoods.

She expressed optimism that stalled projects inherited from previous administrations would be completed while new initiatives are rolled out across the region.

The Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Obrempong Dr Gyamfi Saforokyere II, commended the Municipal Assembly for the ongoing infrastructural improvements in the municipality.

Obrempong Dr Saforokyere II assured the MCE of the traditional authorities’ continued support for initiatives aimed at promoting the progress of Birim Central.

He commended the Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Brako Kusi, for regularly engaging traditional authorities in decision-making and for his responsiveness to community concerns.
