Polling firm Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that female voters in Ghana are proportionately poorer than their male counterparts.
The finding forms part of the firm’s March 2026 national tracking poll, which examined voter demographics across income levels and gender.
According to the data released by Executive Director Mussa Dankwa, 35% of female voters reported having no annual income compared to 25% of male voters.
The report further indicates that at higher income brackets, male voters consistently outnumber females.
“The poll also shows that as income level rises; proportion of female voters who are higher income earners decline,” a social media post Monday, April 6, read in part.
Breakdown of the figures shows that while 6% of male voters earn between GH¢50,000 and GH¢70,000, only 4% of female voters fall within that range.
Among those earning above GH¢100,000, male voters account for 4% compared to just 2% for females.
On party affiliation, the firm revealed that a majority of high-income earners in the country either support the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) or identify as floating voters.
The report shows that 71% of voters earning between GH¢70,000 and GH¢100,000 fall into the NDC or floating voter category.
It further noted that 73% of those earning above GH¢100,000 also share the same alignment.
