Feature Article President Mahama, a man of very high integrity,, please sir, Return the Nyinahin Bauxite to Rocksure International
SUN, 29 MAR 2026

For My Mouth will Speak the Truth, wickedness is an abomination to my Lips’ This a quote from the Holy Bible at Proverbs 8:7 which admonishes us, the creation of Almighty God to speak the Truth and nothing but the truth.

A case study of the affairs with the Nyinahin Bauxite Lease and the Ewoyaa Lithium Lease revealed similarities with regards to extensive and costly exploration works, feasibility studies by the affected Firms namely Rocksure International owned by a Ghanaian and Atlantic Lithium Ltd, an Australian firm respectively. Then issue of same Royalty of 10% as reached between the then regime of President Nana Addo and the affected investors namely Rocksure International Mining Contract Service Giant, owned by Mr Kwasi Ofori, a Ghanaian Mining Magnate for the Nyinahin bauxite lease and Atlantic Lithium Ltd an Australian firm.

Other benefits included a 1% Community Development Fund as well as and the same other benefits. Another same matter was that both were not ratify by the 8th Parliament due to debate by the responsible Parliamentary subcommittee on why the Royalty of 10 percent offends the law passed in 2014 as Minerals and Mining Amendment Act 2010 (Act 794) which demanded royalty to be fixed as 5%.

Main Differences which reflected a very positive shift in the Mining Sector included. (a). A trust Fund, (b). The Nyinahin Bauxite Concession was openly published in both local and International Papers for Firms to form Strategic partnership with Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Company (GIADAC), a special purpose vehicle to manage Ghana’s bauxite and VALCO. (c). Requirement included a Bauxite Mine in Nyinahin at MPASSAAO and a Refinery Solution. 70% ownership by the bidder, and 20% by GIADAC and 10% by Government. (d). Over 40 Companies both local and foreign companies including ALCOA of USA, the Company that helped President Nkrumah to build the Akosombu Hydroelectric power Dam, and was the original owners of VALCO bided, and Rocksure International of Mr Kwasi Ofori of Kumasi Kejetia won the bid that is Rocksure was regarded as the best bidder.

Based on completion of the bidding process, the Rocksure International Nyinahin Bauxite Lease was the best mining drafted agreement reached with Ghana, due to the fact that the Agreement was reached with a local firm hence domestication in the Large Scale Mining Sector, with Ownership, being the people of Ghana were to hold 20% plus the usual 10% carry interest, whilst Rocksure International was to hold 70%.(c). Rocksure International or the partners were required to construct a bauxite mine and bauxite Refinery termed as Alumina Refinery to produce Alumina ingot. The price of Alumina ingot was 400 US Dollars per ton whilst 40 US Dollars was 1000 ton of bauxite (d) addition of 24hour economy in the at the project site and the value chain

Unfortunately, like the Ewoyaa Lithium Lease, there was a delay to ratify the Bauxite lease by Parliament though presented to Parliament for ratification due to the very poor knowledge and understanding by members of Parliament, especially the responsible committee that the Minerals and Mining Amendment Act 2015 (Act 900) enacted in the first regime of President Mahama, replaced or repealed Minerals and Mining Amendment Act 2010 (Act 794), and granted the Sector Minister, the Authority, Power, Capacity to negotiate special royalty rates on case by case basis.

Act 900, had a default or minimum rate of 5% and no upper limit, so by the spirit and letter of the Minerals and Mining Amendment Act 2015 (Act 900), up to 10% or more percentage as royalty was permissible with good negotiation skills by both parties. So, President Nana Addo’s regime did a very good job with rate of 10% for Ghana. The issue of sliding has its advantages and disadvantages to both parties just like the problem being faced in the Cocoa Industry. As well as not attractive to some investors.

Fortunately, the Lithium Lease of the foreign Company or Broni, was ratified by the 9th Parliament in March 2026 but presumably due to our PHD Pull Him Down) syndrome in our DNA the bauxite Lease of Rocksure of Mr Ofori, a black man or one the Kumasi Kejetia darling boys, was not ratified and no noise from the ludicrous NPP of Dr Bawumia and Afenyo Markins’ MP nor from the Alan Cash’s UP minus or is it, UP plus.

This writer, a former Senior Army Officer, with the Bogobiri’s and the Great Second of 2BN’s fighting spirit, and as an apostle of a Better Ghana Agenda, sees the Resetting Agenda of “Prophet” His Excellency JD Mahama, as a mindset revolution that is a moral foundation tool, among others, aimed at to reset the minds of citizens, regarding faith in Ghana, Institutions, our Service Providers, and Leadership.

It is to instil inclusivity and integrity for moral foundation to ensure true progress. Also, a culture tool for eliminating the sluggishness, excessive greediness and to help us discard the PHD (Pull Him Down) Syndromes. So, the Resetting Agenda is a Revolutionary tool for Attitudinal Change for total national overhauling/renewal thus changing the narrative to ensure more seriousness in this Country.

Hence, he will not sit down and allow bad nuts in the regime of President Mahama to derail the Resetting Agenda. So, he thinks the very good people of Ghana especially the Asantehene who called in that Large Scale Mining Lease should be given to Ghanaians (Google for ‘Asantehene’s call for Large Scale Mining Lease should be given to Ghanaians’ should be very worried of the issues in the Sector and the flimsy excuse of the Sector Minister and Mr Tandoh’s Minerals Commission, in the era of the Resetting Agenda of Dear President Mahama. With the claim that the said Bauxite Lease Agreement was not ratified by the 8th Parliament as such it is void. Google for this very funny story as covered by JoyNews as ‘Gov’t cancels Rocksure’s 1.2 Billion US Dollars Nyinahin Bauxite eyes global partnership’.

That of the Lithium Lease of foreigners with the same problem of not ratified by the 8th Parliament due the 10 percent royalty matters and which together with the Bauxite one were with Parliament or the Sector Minister was ratified recently. So, is it an issue of mental slavery that everything of Kwasi broni is good and that of Ghanaian or black Kwasi is very bad?

So, the very good people of Ghana, our respected Chiefs (Ashantehene, Dormaahene, NavroPio, Chiana Pio, BolgaNaba, Bawku Naba, Nayeri, the Ga King etc , the media houses, the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, honest CSOs, the Leaders of Faith Base Institutions, need to rise up to the occasion and stop this nonsense of mental slavery by favoring foreigners otherwise presumable politically connected foreign firms by bad nuts in the Regime of President Mahama, a man of very high integrity with his God sent, Resetting Agenda being executed by him, (Prophet Dear President Mahama) .

The Sector Minister needs not to be reminded that the Lithium Lease of a foreign Company namely Atlantic Lithium for the lithium Concession at Ewoyaa which was also not ratified by the 8th Parliament, received the blessings of the 9th Parliament in March 2026, in the Resetting Agenda of Dear President Mahama. So the question is why this baloney? Hmm, We are told a Chinese Investor or Company may be selected as the Strategic Partner for the Nyinahin Bauxite Concession as Project 2’.

If this is happened, then it may give a wrong perception of the possible works of my good northern brother, namely Mr Ibrahim Mahama because in April 2025, he was linked with an Association of China and Ghana in Mining. Google for Mr Ibrahim Mahama and the launch of the Association of China and Ghana in Mining. The Bauxite Lease was cancelled in the same month of April 2025.So you do not a Prophet to tell that this may point to a secret Agenda in this era of Probity, Transparency and Accountability.

Expect an article on matter on the Ownership of Damang Mine Lease, Nyinahin Bauxite Lease, and Ewoyaa Lithium Lease, Demo Opposite strategy of demanding local ownership whilst walking away in others
