Afram: NDC Has Delivered on Key 2024 Campaign Promises – Hon Ben Afram

The Deputy National Youth Commissioner of the NDC Proforum, Hon. Benjamin Afram, has asserted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has fulfilled the major promises it made to Ghanaians during the 2024 electioneering campaign.

According to him, the results on the ground provide clear evidence that President John Dramani Mahama’s administration is firmly on course toward transforming the economy.

Hon. Afram noted that, despite being in office for only eleven months, the NDC’s performance already surpasses what he described as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) eight-year record in government.

Speaking on Gye Nyame FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme with Papa King in Sampa, he criticized comments made by the NPP’s National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B). He accused the NPP of refusing to accept political reality following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.

He argued that the NPP is “behaving like a party that does not exist in the country,” claiming it has failed to acknowledge the ongoing transformation under President Mahama’s leadership.

Hon. Afram stressed that Ghanaians rejected the NPP because the party attempted to return to power through misinformation, despite what he described as its complete mismanagement of the country.

He added that the NDC administration has wasted no time in addressing the economic damage left behind, pointing to ongoing reforms as evidence. He highlighted improvements such as a reduction in the policy rate to 18 percent, single‑digit inflation, and a stabilized exchange rate.

“These are clear facts, not propaganda or slogans. This is what competent leadership looks like,” he emphasized.

Hon. Afram further stated that the NDC has moved from promises to action with the rollout of its 24‑hour economy initiative, already operational in key government institutions including the ports, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), and Passport Offices nationwide.

He contrasted this with what he described as the NPP’s legacy of hardship, delayed pension payments, and rising unemployment.

According to him, the NPP now understands that returning to power may take decades, as Ghanaians are no longer willing to trust a party that, in his view, failed them.

He concluded by urging the NPP to “stop the noisemaking” and allow the current government to focus on governance and national development.
