
Nyinahin is set to host one of the country’s new 24-hour Model Markets, fulfilling a key promise by the President.
The Atwima Mponua District Chief Executive, Hon. Ibrahim Issahak, announced the development during the 41st National Farmers Day celebration on Friday.
According to the DCE, the Assembly, working together with the Chief of Nyinahin, has secured land for the project. He said the market will enhance local trade and strengthen economic activity within the district.
Hon. Issahak also highlighted progress on the upcoming bauxite mining operations at Kyereyaaso. He said the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation is ready to begin mining at Block A, while advanced processes are underway to select companies for Blocks B and C. He explained that the mining project will create many jobs and significantly reduce unemployment in Atwima Mponua.
On infrastructure, the DCE announced that several projects have been completed. These include the Mpasatia Police Station, a 2-unit Doctor’s Bungalow at Anwiafutu, and a 20-seater WC toilet facility with a mechanized borehole at Nyinahin.
He also reported that a 2-unit KG Block at Bayerebon No. 3 is nearing completion, while construction continues on another 2-unit KG Block at Kotokuom D/A Primary School.
Hon. Issahak further revealed that new District Assembly Common Fund projects are currently under procurement. These include a 2-unit KG Block with an office, store, washroom, and mechanized borehole at Akotaa, a 6-unit classroom block with a staff common room, store, and WC facility at Agogoso, two CHPS compounds with equipment and boreholes at Mpasatia and Wansamire, and ten mechanized boreholes across Adupri, Baniekrom, Okyerekrom, Otaakrom, Nyinahin Zongo, Nyinahin Abobonwin, Nyinahin New Site, Ntobroso, Akantansu, and Kataatwoa.
He said the Entity Tender Committee has reviewed all reports and assured that contracts will soon be awarded. Hon. Issahak concluded by reaffirming his commitment to securing more development projects to enhance the welfare of the people of Atwima Mponua.
