The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka-Mohammed Mubarak, has imposed a curfew on Gulumpe and nearby communities in the Bono East Region following recent security threats linked to a chieftaincy dispute.
The curfew, which takes effect from Tuesday, October 21, will be enforced from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. until further notice.
“The Minister for the Interior, on the advice of the National Security Council and by Executive Instrument, has imposed a curfew on Gulumpe Township and its environs in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East Region from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., effective Tuesday, October 21, 2025, until further notice, following chieftaincy issues causing security threats in the area,” a statement signed by the Minister read.
Residents have been warned against carrying firearms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons, with violators to face prosecution.
“No two or more persons should be seen on motorbikes throughout the day. No war regalia should be worn throughout the day,” the statement further cautioned.
Meanwhile, the government has urged chiefs, opinion leaders, and the youth to exercise restraint and use peaceful, lawful means to resolve the dispute and restore calm in the area.

The government shows more control on the citizens than the illegals who are killing and kidnapping people to the extend that they invite foreigners into Ghana and ask their families back home for ransom and if the refuse they kill their foreign victim. We have law makers that we should trust?
